On November 21, within the framework of cooperation with UN Women, the “Clusters for Development” project held a working meeting for members of Georgian Apparel and Fashion Association • GAFA and Georgian Construction Materials Cluster • GCMC.
UN Women project analyst, Elene Gabelaia and gender expert, Maya Avaliani, introduced the principles of gender cooperation to the cluster members, reviewed women’s rights, challenges and opportunities in Georgia.
Participants received information about the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) and learned about ways to sign these principles. Irma Daushvili, the founder of Dio, and Ana Kukhaleishvili, the co-founder of BIM-Cube, presented themselves as invited guests at the meeting, who spoke about the importance of implementing the principles of women’s empowerment in the organization, using the example of their company.
For Georgian Apparel and Fashion Association • GAFA and Georgian Construction Materials Cluster • GCMC, the empowerment and promotion of women is one of the most important priorities. In the future, both clusters will continue to work in this direction to promote the strengthening of women’s principles among cluster members and to take active steps to introduce an organisational system.
